Creative Alternatives now operates a Transitional Housing Placement plus Foster Care (THP+FC) program.
The THP+FC program is an option for Non Minor Dependents and provides services such as housing and financial assistance.
This option is available to adults ranging from 18-21 years old and must meet the educational or employments eligibility criteria to receive these benefits.

Creative Alternatives Foster Family Agency’s mission is to provide a healthy, safe and nurturing environment for emotionally disturbed, neglected and abused children.
Creative Alternatives is licensed by the State Department of Social Services to operate a Foster Family Agency.
Through the Foster Family Agency families are recruited, trained and certified as exclusive-use homes for the corporation.
This enables Creative Alternatives to continue care for children who have successfully completed their stay in the group home program, but who are unable for one reason or another to return to their natural homes.

Our primary activities include the operation of Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) homes for youth with specialty mental health needs, placement of children in private foster homes and running nonpublic schools.

Creative Alternatives was founded in 1976 by Ron and Mary Phillips in Hughson, California. The focus of the organization, then and now, was to provide a nurturing environment for troubled children. Under Executive Director, Joy Biddle’s leadership, the organization continues to make a difference in hundreds of California’s foster youth.

Donations accepted by Creative Alternatives, either direct donation or through our various fund raising activities go directly into the Grace Bishop Memorial Fund for our emancipating youth. These funds are never used for operations cost. Creative Alternatives is 501 c3 nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
